Cutoff will be on March 21

Proposal 1- Sheriff Redav of Harbor of Rhye
Would like to make it so that fighter practice can award 1/4 credit to any class as long as a class battle is played and the class you receive credit in was played.

This is not a good idea. Fighter practice is specifically for fighting. It is not a place for class battles.

I agree.  It is to practice your fighting, not to practice your class.  Besides... according to the rule book as long as you play your class you gain credit in that class.  This is what the rule book says:

Quote
You must play the class you wish to gain
credit in. If no class is played but fighting takes place, you may take a Warrior credit.

Precedent as to why this is a bad idea:

Aeons ago when I was but a nooblet, my first park did exactly that: awarding any credits on Wednesdays (how I miss twice weekly Amtgard).  We get in contact with the kingdom after a few months of a comms blackout and come to find out that was wrong.

All of a sudden, 40+ people were 6th level warriors Smiley

Don't do it dudes.  Just a bad idea.

so vote against it if you don't like it.  i don't see any reason, though, why a vote shouldn't be had.

From my understanding, Sheriff Redav is trying to give an incentive to those who would like to partake in more Amtgard. I know from as far back as I can remember that Fighter Practice was practice for fighting. Though that doesn't mean it couldn't be used for other reasons.
Also, I'm from the Mushroom Shrine in the Wetlands where there were always 2 days a week for Amtgard. I do agree though that I don't like the idea of having a park full of 6th lvl Warriors but, then if a person shows up enough to recieve those credits, he deserves them.

We don't actually need this in our corpora.  And this is the reason why...  Per the ROP (which trumps any corpora)

Quote
Only one attendance credit may be given on a single day. You must play the class you wish to gain
credit in. If no class is played but fighting takes place, you may take a Warrior credit.

So, if your park wishes to have a class game during your FP, then by all means your members could sign in under a class and gain points in that class.  But a class game must be played.  There is nothing in the RoP or the Corpora that states that you can not play a class game during a FP.

Which was why I was saying to nuke it from orbit.  Reading of the rules is what's needed around here, not putting in corpora changes every time someone takes a shit.

you miss the meaning, then.

The point is that this ought to be a local issue and left in the hands of the "state" governments.  This is basically a question of rules and the Corpora has no bearing on things like credits and classes.  It's a document completely dedicated to the structure of the government of the kingom.  Your local leadership, especially the PM, should be the one proposing this to the local Althing.

This kingdom us entirely too fucknut slap-happy about making corpora changes that are either contradictory or counter to the one approved by the CoM when they voted to allow CG to become a kingdom (caveat emptor) or absolutely worthless anyway.  Yes there have been good changes recently, but this is a prime example of overlegislstion where a ruling in the governing documents aren't even warranted.

Not saying any of you are at fault, so please don't take it that way.  You're trying to make a positive change and that's always welcome.
